2017 EDAP/RIVERINA YOUNG CONFERENCE WRAPUP

 

 

The recent joint EDAP/Riverina regional Conference held at Young Town Hall and hosted by Hilltops Council highlights include:

  • 100 Delegates attending the joint conference with representatives from over 27 Local Government Councils, 4 Private Certifying Companies as well as State Government Agencies

  • 34 delegates to the NSW Food Authority/Local Government Food Group meeting on Wednesday 29 March at Young which was hosted by NSWFoodAuthority and EDAP

  • A well attended welcoming function hosted by B.E.S.T. at the Grove Winery Estate was a great start and followed on at the Commercial Hotel.

  • The conference was officially opened on the Thursday morning by the Acting General Manager of Hilltops Ms Lee Furness who addressed delegates on the Hilltops area.

  • EDAP/Riverina and sponsors provided a great range of delegate’s gifts including an engraved tumbler and local jam.

  • A large selection of trade exhibitors were on hand with the sponsors participation contributing to the success of the conference

  • An excellent program and array of quality speakers including a heart stopping delivery from the parents of Georgina Cockburn on driveway safety EDAP at its AGM unanimously agreed to donate $500 to the Georgina Josephine Foundation

  • The Barista coffee station in the foyer was very well supported and a big hit with delegates

 

  • EDAP AGM was well attended and a new committee elected for the 2016/2017 year. The nomination of Mudgee was accepted for the 2017 Conference. Long serving President Mr Steven Campbell stepped down from the Presidential position and Mr Brendan Hayes was elected President

  • An outstanding conference dinner attended by 90 delegates at the beautiful Young Golf Club. Great food and refreshments was  catered from Juicy Lucy Cafe and an inspirational talk on the heritage of Lambing Flat (Young) was provided by

  • Friday had a full program of interesting site visits starting off with a BBQ breakfast at Chinaman’s Dam and catered by Young Lions Club then off to Galong .
