Planning and Environmental Services Officer - Cobar Shire Council
Cobar Shire Council is actively recruiting a Planning and Environmental Services Officer to join its Planning and Environmental Services Department.
Reporting to the Council’s Director Planning and Environmental Services, in this position you will have the opportunity to organise and carry out the functions of the Department relevant to environmental health and building surveying. The position also includes responsibility for protecting the public health and safety of the residents of Cobar Shire by ensuring a high standard of hygiene exists in the community with recognised construction and building standards. The jobholder will assess and determine development and other applications, as well as coordinate the implementation of a strategy for the regulation of on-site sewage management systems and implement the Food Regulations Partnership between Council and the NSW Food Authority.
Salary: The salary range offered for this position is $81,800 to $94,600 per annum, plus superannuation and relevant allowances as per the Local Government (State) Award. A commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience. Council works a 35 hour week based on a nine-day fortnight and conditions of employment are determined by the Local Government (State) Award.Other benefits include a 9-day fortnight, leaseback vehicle, subsidised rental and relocation costs reimbursement.
